Business Development Manager (BDM). Must have a “hunter” mentality to develop sales opportunities with OEM machine builders and win product specifications with end-user manufacturers with a focus on the packaging and food manufacturing industry. The (BDM) position is home based and should be located near a major airport.

Position Responsibilities:
•Pursue target OEMs and End Users defined by the Business Development industry strategy.
•Identify additional OEMs that fit with the Business Development target industries and applications.
•Manage the target customer relationship, working closely with key decision makers and influencers.
•Generate discovery agreements and proposals to meet customer specifications.
•Plan and execute smooth transfer of converted OEMs to the local Channel Sales Team.
•Understand markets, customers, competitors, products and applications to better recommend solutions.
•Maintain a high degree of technical knowledge as required to fulfill job responsibilities.

Travel Requirements
•50-75% overnight travel

Required Skills •Bachelor’s Degree (engineering or technical degree preferred) or equivalent experience
•Minimum of 7 years’ experience in field sales within the packaging or food manufacturing industry.
•Must have demonstrated experience with solution selling to key end-users (Gen Mills, Frito Lay, Nestle, etc.)
•Experience with managing account relationships at large OEMs and End Users
•Ability to develop new accounts with a top-down, solution selling process
•Strong leadership skills to coordinate technical and commercial resources in account conversion process
•Solid written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and proposal writing
•Computer proficiency – knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
